In total, India has won 31 medals across all editions of the Summer Paralympics – 9 gold, 12 silver and 10 bronze.

The country has been most successful in athletics, winning 18 medals in the sport (4 gold, 9 silver, 5 bronze). Some of India’s star Paralympic medalists in athletics include:

  • Devendra Jhajharia (javelin throw)
  • Mariyappan Thangavelu (high jump)
  • Sumit Antil (javelin throw)
